Waddy Tax & Accounting Services · Since 1970

Since 1970, the work has stayed personal.

Waddy Accounting Services began as a family practice built around listening carefully, asking good questions, and understanding the circumstances behind the numbers. More than five decades later, that same personal approach continues, supported by technology, stronger systems, and a broader range of tax, accounting, advisory, and representation services.

01 / The Beginning

The practice began with listening.

Before starting the accounting practice, Waddy's founder spent a brief period working as a social worker. It is an unusual route into accounting, and it shaped how the firm has worked ever since.

Social work depends on a particular set of skills, and they carried directly into the practice.

  • Asking good questions
  • Listening before prescribing a solution
  • Understanding the circumstances around a problem
  • Approaching people with compassion
  • Developing solutions based on what the person actually needed

Numbers can describe a problem without explaining the person or business experiencing it. Understanding both has been part of Waddy's approach from the beginning.

Waddy has always been a family practice, and that made the work personal. Clients were not files to be processed. Their circumstances mattered, and understanding those circumstances was part of doing the financial work well.

Ask good questions. Listen carefully. Understand the problem.

02 / The Years in Order

The record, entry by entry.

A firm's history reads best the way a financial record does. Entries in sequence, and a line at the bottom that does not change.

The practice begins with a personal approach shaped by listening, problem-solving, and understanding what clients actually need.

  • Responsibility Important financial matters deserve careful handling.

The tools keep improving. The responsibility remains.

04 / Leadership

The next generation brought a different set of tools.

Eric Waddy, Enrolled Agent, Waddy Tax & Accounting Services

Eric Waddy, Enrolled Agent

Eric Waddy studied computer science and began his career in technology. He joined the firm in 2005. James Waddy Jr. retired in 2016, and today Eric leads Waddy Tax & Accounting Services.

Where the practice began with a strong emphasis on listening and understanding the person behind the financial problem, Eric brought another discipline into the firm: technology. His background influenced how Waddy gathers information, organizes financial materials, manages workflows, and continues looking for more efficient ways to deliver accounting, tax, and business guidance.

Technology expanded how the work could be done. It did not replace the personal approach that shaped the firm in the first place.

Eric is an Enrolled Agent, federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
